Kalawa Jazzme Renews Publishing & Distribution Deal with Universal Music

Kalawa Jazzmee has just renewed their working Relationship with Universal Music , I’m sure you may remember a few month back when a romour came out that Kalawa Jazzmee was sold to Universal.
According to the reports, Kalawa would be moved into a new company, Tacwise, in which Universal Music would hold a 51 percent stake. Under the proposed deal, Oskido would be set to receive a R28 million payday.
But speaking to The Juice shortly after the reports broke, Oskido denies the deal, saying that Kalawa Jazmee is not going anywhere .
“It’s not true. Our contract with Universal has expired, as it does every 5 years, and we are simply re-negotiating a deal,” he says.
“Kalawa Jazmee will continue as a label going forward,” he adds.
Today Oskido Took to Social Media : We as @KalawaJazmeeR have been working with Universal Music Group SA @UMGSA since 2005. And we are delighted to inform you that Kalawa has signed a new deal with Universal and extended the working relationship for the next 5 years. More great things ahead. #ibelieve
