The most renowned Acapella group, The Soil, has been hard at work preparing for their debut performance at Africa Now! Festival at The Apollo Theater in New York.
The Super Deluxe Edition of the
band’s first offering, which will be released digitally through SIN/Sony
Music Entertainment Africa/Native Rhythms Records on 12 March 2013 is
an audio / video combo.Influenced by greats such as Miriam Makeba, Busi Mhlongo, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Simphiwe Dana, while also drawing from a wide range of genres, the record is a culmination of years of dedication, hard work and a passion for music. According to the group, the album is a reflection of their aspiration for a world full of joy, and it’s a message they carry out with each performance.
