CTEMF : Open End Workshops


For the third year running the CTEMF Open End will be taking place during the week leading up to the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival, from the 4th to the 6th of February 2014. Here are the details below :

Day 1 – Tuesday 4th February
 
Day 1 was successful with Markus Wormstorm (Biblo) and  Craig McGahey (Mama Dance) on the couch taking a look at other sources of income for electronic-music artists aside from gigging with a focus on licensing music and sound-design for TV, film and advertising.



DAY 2 – Wednesday 5th January
15:00 The Business of Pleasure, A Promoter’s Story . On the couch: Ma’or Harris (Beanstalk), Raymond Bloom (After Hours), Vincent Manzini (iKapa Live).
These three promoters, behind events such as the Cape Town World Music Festival (Beanstalk), Goldfish Submerged Sundays (After Hours) and Ikasi Experience (iKapa Live) will be discussing the ins and outs of being an event promoter in the local electronic and dance music industry.


                              Day 3 – Thursday 6th January (Guga S’Thebe, Llanga)
15:00 Behind the Scene 
Ishsha Bourguet (Echo Location Talent), Lee-Roy David (Steady Life), Heather Mennell (DJ Mag SA)
 16:45 An Artist’s Journey: Dixon 
Being active in Berlin’s fertile techno and house scene since the early 90s, 
18:30 From Club To Stadium On the couch: Noisia 

 Their will be chatting about their journey and discussing the merits of this meteoric rise.
The Open End Workshops are free and open for all to attend but space is limited so please come early to ensure you get a space. So if your in Cape Town , Make sure you're there for the remaining days.
