DAKAR MAKES HISTORY AT METRO AWARDS

DaKAR is an acronym for "Da King of Afrikan Rap," the title of Kwesta's sophomore
album that debut at No. 3 on the iTunes Hip-hop chart behind Eminem's Marshall
Mathers LP II & Drake's Nothing Was The Same respectively. It was voted Best Hip-hop
Album at the 13th Annual Metro FM Awards this past weekend, giving Kwesta his first
award. This, his latest offering, most notably includes collaborations with Jimmy
Nevis, Crash Car Burn, Reason idols winner Jody Williams as well as the Emmy &

DaKAR was the only strictly digital release to be nominated at the 13th annual MMA's and Kwesta has now made South African music history by being the first artist to win a major award without having a physical copy of his album available at traditional retail outlets. Although he's made means for his music to be as accessible as possible he admits that the South African market is far from well adept to the digital music world after being inundated with calls from fans demanding the release a physical CD and now that he's won the iconic Metro FM statuette Sony Music Entertainment Africa will ensure that his album is in stores from the 31st of March when he embarks on a nationwide meet-n-greet CD signing tour, the details of which
will be released on March the 13th. Kwesta declared "it's a classic, in a league of it's own" and those who can't wait for the CD can #BuyDaKAR on iTunes http://smarturl.it/BuyDaKAR!

The 16-track DaKAR CD will be available in stores from Monday the 31st of March 2014.
