Former Big Brother Mzansi housemate, producer and DJ Sol Pheduka has set the bar high.Just a few days after leaving the Big Brother house an announcement was made that he has joined national radio station 5FM.
Born Solomzi Phenduka, he first joined the Gauteng-based radio station YFM as an intern in 2008.
Now he has embarked on a new journey in his life and is looking forward to his new chapter at 5FM.
Sol will be part of the breakfast show which is hosted by DJ Fresh and his team.
The show’s team consists of producer Catherine Grenfell, sports presenter Duran Collett and news reader Carmen Reddy.
Sol will join the team to handle the traffic reports from 5 May.
He told Daily Sun that the position promised career growth. He said he was excited about being part of the national radio station. When asked how he was going to add to the show, he said: “I’m a crazy young guy who is fun and smart.
“YFM is sort of a talent hub for the rest of the country. I’m proud to have been there and to have learned so much.
“I have experience as a co-host on the breakfast show since we’ve been doing Flava in the Morning since 2009.”He said it was sad to part ways with the company he has been with for almost five years.
Sol said: “The company employed me as an intern and it is the only place you can leave as an intern to co-host a breakfast show.”Multi-talented Sol is signed to record label Native Rhythms Records.
He has promised to release some singles during the course of the year.
