DJ SBU AND MALEMA TWAR

THE gloves were off on Tuesday night when DJ Sbu and EFF leader Julius Malema got into a Twitter fight.
The ballot paper tweeted by DJ Sbu after voting. This came after news channel eNCA quoted what Malema had said at his party’s rally on Sunday in a tweet, which read: “Malema promises to liberate artists. Says if you are not part of 999, Kalawa or TS Records, you don’t get a tender.”
DJ Sbu, who co-owns TS Records, responded in a tweet to Malema: “No one takes what this idiot says seriously.
“You had so much potential, Julius. You blew it. Now all you do is lie. Good luck.”
Malema then wrote: “It’s not a lie that you don’t have a radio voice. You know how you got the job at the SABC.”
DJ Sbu said: “I was speaking to Juju and not attacking his party. I have never received a tender. For him to attack these record companies was wrong because we are fighting the white minority in the music industry.”
EFF spokesman Mbuyiseni Ndlozi said: “Sbu is petty. There is a sense of desperation. It’s like he’s trying to prove himself to the ANC. If he has a problem with Julius, why not call us and engage in a proper manner?”
The controversy surrounding DJ Sbu didn’t end with this fight. Yesterday, he tweeted a photo of his ballot papers, revealing which party he had voted for.
Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali followed in Sbu’s footsteps and posted a photo of his ballot paper on Instagram.
This was after IEC spokeswoman Kate Bapela warned South Africans that it was illegal to take photos of their ballot papers.
IEC provincial electoral officer Simon Mamabolo said: “We will look into the matter and consider whether we will lay charges.”
