Kalawa Jazmee is one of South Africa’s biggest labels.

Twenty years since the birth of this independent record label, they are still the voice of Mzansi youth.

The label’s co-owned by Oscar
Mdlongwa, Zynne Sibika aka Mahoota, Trompies members Mandla Mofokeng aka Spikiri, Jairus Jakarumba, Eugene Mthethwa and Mjokes Matsane.

Hansa Pilsener has teamed up with Kalawa Jazmee All Stars for a celebration of nothing but the best music.

Join the big party on Saturday at Orlando West’s Ubuntu Kraal in Soweto.

Producer Spikiri said: “I have so many highlights at Kalawa... it’s not easy to sustain a record label for so many years. It’s not easy but we are still on top of our game. Seeing our artists win awards is rewarding. We have exceeded all expectations.”

Spikiri added that he remembers as if it was yesterday when they were
involved in a big fight with Alaska music group over the • igiya Ngengoma song.

“It was so funny because both Trompies and Alaska wanted the song badly... but it’s water under the bridge now. All is forgotten and we are still tight.”

On Saturday the all-star lineup
includes heavyweights such as Alaska, Thebe, Trompies, Oskido, Bricks, Professor, Mahoota vs Vetkuk, Uhuru, Black Motion, Dr Malinga and many more.

The audience will also get the chance to meet the five “dreamers” Hlogi Makau from Caprivi Lounge, Ruan Vermeulen and Robert Nicholls owners of Fury Custom Bikes, Vusi Kunene of The Blackanese sushi restaurant and Kgomotso Pooe of Soweto Outdoor Adventures.
