BLACK MOTION SELL GOLD IN LESS THAN 50 DAYS

Black Motion's "Fortune Teller" has seen the Gold mark and attained it. Driven by their smash hit single "Rainbow", which has consistently enjoyed a Top 3 spot on the Local Playlist Charts for the past 25 weeks, the album took just 49 days to sell in excess of 20 000 units.

Black Motion came into being in early 2010 when Robert “DJ Murda” Mahosana and percussionist Thabo “Smol” Mabogwane teamed up.Winner of the Best Concert in Toronto (Canada), the group says they first refused to believe that the album has gone gold in 49 days. "'We denied it because we though it was impossible to sell Gold in 49 days, but when they (Record Company) really confirmed with us we were on the road to a gig and we felt like we were dreaming. We are very humble and thankful because we can't do this without our fans, so this Gold status is everyone's status not just that of Black Motion."

The Soshanguve duo (Thabo "Smol" Mabogwane and Bongani "Murdah" Mohosana) say what sets us them apart from the rest out there is "our REALISM and doing what we believe in, that being US". "We do what we know is BLACK MOTION and we don't follow trends to sustain us in the industry, we simply just do us and and experiment with a whole lot of sounds, African sounds, western sounds and we don't limit/box ourselves."

The group that broke into the world scene with "Banane Mavoko" adds that having one of the biggest songs on radio this festive feels somehow unreal, simply "because when we make songs we don't make them for popularity or fame but for the masses to understand a message we are trying to send in terms of music". To our surprise the song got big and everybody is loving it and we are humble about it and this only makes us push harder.
