Liquideep prepares to release their new album "Welcome Aboard"

Liquideep is busy in studio putting final touches to their upcoming album titled "Welcome Aboard" .
Liquideep which is a group comprising of american born Jonathan Ziyon Christian and Thabo ‘Ryzor' Shokgolo ,the duo first came to the lime light when their disc was featured on the House of Afrika sessions vol.1 , the album featured their hit single "Fairy tale" , which became very popular in 2009 , it was a huge hit and it immediately rose them to fame.

In 2010 , they released their debut album "Fabrics of the heart" which was a very successful album and was well received by the masses . It featured a lot of hits including "Angel" , "Something about you" and other good tracks . They are back once again with their new album which promises to be the best as well , although they say their sound is a bit different from their usual sounds in their new album , i can confidently say they still sounding good , having listened to their new single "Welcome aboard" . WEEKLY HIP HOP FEATURE: "REASON"... THE MASS

Growing up in the dirty streets of Katlehong "K1" reason has never been shy of the big stage, participating in his high school talent shows "Germiston High School". Reason used to win Hip Hop Dance and Rap competitions and definitely won the minds and hearts of the streets.

A couple of years back Reason parked his Hip Hop ambitions to follow the expected route of the career world, but his intuition and passion for the Hip Hop game would not allow him. in 2010 he come back into the industry and release his mixtape duped "The beast against the beats". This mixtape gave him real recognition in the Hip Hop industry which got the likes of Zubs and Tumi from Tumi and the Volume interested and intrigued by the young rapper.


2012 Reason released his debut album titled "Audio 3D". The album was set to revolutionise the entire Hip Hop industry, with a combination of different genres ranging from Rock to dance music, and coupled with hardcore, street swag, conscious lyrics. To date he has walked away with the Best Hip Hop Album of the year 2012 from the controversial SA Hip Hop Awards.

WEEKLY HIP HOP FEATURE: CASHTIME AND KWESTA HIP HOP TOUR

Late last year during the December holidays, Cape Town and Durban where blessed with the mind blowing and must see Hip Hop Tour duped "The Hang Over Tour" Featuring Kwesta and the Cashtime duo "Kid X and Smashes".

The boys are not here to play they mean business, they packed all the clubs that they performed at, and left memories never to be forgotten. This year sees the Hang-Over Tour being taken to Swaziland late March 2013. The venues are still yet to be confirmed. Swaziland be on the look out for the once in a lifetime performances.

Mafikizolo makes a banger come back with hit single "Khona"

Mafikizolo ,One of South Africa 's loved afro pop group that brought you hits like Ndi hamba nawe , Lotto , Emlanjeni and many other rockaz hits. After a six year break from releasing as a group and focusing on their solo artists , Theo and Nhlanhla have teamed up once again .
They are in preparation to release their new album which feature the banging hit single "Khona" ft Uhuru , The song has the whole of mzansi dancing like crazy .

The group isn't only making a comeback - they have also refreshed their sound. It is totally different from their previous hits.

Nciza calls it a blessing to have met some young producers in the industry who have helped with the evolution of the traditional Mafikizolo 60s sound.
"We were lucky to have upcoming producers, who helped us come up with fresh ideas," she says.

Uhuru (Maphorisa , Clap , Celimpilo)

"We wanted an African feel. Many of our tracks on the new album have a unique sound, though some of our songs are still Afro-pop," Nciza says.
 The album will be released under Kalawa Jazmee, and is being produced by Oskido alongside Maphorisa of Uhuru.

Zahara recently went on 2.5 million shopping spree and spoiling herself with a cluster house worth R1,9m and a new set of wheels (an Audi A5 Convertible).
The ritzy three-bedroomed abode is nestled in an upscale complex in the quiet suburb of Little Falls in Roodepoort, west of Jozi.


Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana, went shopping after her family laid bare their broken hearts over what they called "trickery" played on them by her record company and management.

Late last year , it was all over the news that record label TS Records was ripping Zahara off . But guess now they can all shut up as she moves into her new home and drives to meetings in her brand new Audi convertible.

The talented guitarist and singer, who sold more than 300000 copies of her debut album and is the most sought after artist in Mzansi, is contracted to TK Records, co-owned by Nciza and Sibusiso Leope, aka DJ Sbu.

Big Nuz 's Danger accused of assaulting an Journalist

 kwaito star Mzi Tshomela aka Danger of kwaito group Big Nuz, allegedly verbally and physically attacked Media24 freelance journalist, Kgomotso Moganedi.

The assault is said to have taken place at one of KwaZulu-Natal's popular clubs, Vogue in Umhlanga on the 1st of Feb 2013.
The Daily Sun's regional editor, Thobile Nxumalo says Danger accused the journalist of being egotistical and whacked him on the face.

"Moganedi was at a club with a photographer when the kwaito star approached him. He accused him of being cocky and writing bad stories about him.
"After the confrontation, he slapped him in the face," says Nxumalo.
Moganedi says what made him more angry is that he has never written anything about the artist.
"He manhandled me and slapped me for nothing. I have never written a single article about him or his group. My editor even checked all my
stories and found no evidence of his accusations," he says.

He goes on to say that it is not the first time the artist has attacked a journalist.

 However, Danger says if he had assaulted the journalist, he would have left him bed-ridden.
The artist says he finds the allegations against him hilarious and accuses Moganedi of looking for fame.
"There was a bit of disagreement between us. The cameras at the bar can show that I did not assault anyone that night," he says.
"He is a young boy, he should be making money instead of being petty. I have no time for court because I am a busy man, making money."

Mahoota Gives back to the community

Yesterday saw DJ Mahoota , Of Mahoota vs Vetkuk fame ,taking time from his busy schedule to go out and give back to the community of Meadowlands. Mahoota visited about 24 primary schools in Soweto , He gave away close to 100 packs of school uniforms , included in the pack were a trouser , shirt and shoes.

Tlhokomelo high primary school was one of the fortunate schools that received the uniforms. I must say i am very impressed by this ubuntu we seeing from South African artists , if all artist and other individuals took it upon them to help the community , a lot could improved. on the subject of giving back , rumor has it that Patrice Motsepe will be giving away half of his money to the poor and unemployed. So we trully wanna thank people like these , Patrice and DJ Mahoota big ups to you.
