Ziyon 's Open Letter on LiquiDeep Splitting

According to a recent blog post, celebrated Johannesburg duo Liquideep have split up.
The post, written by member Ziyon, surprised and shocked fans who offered words of encouragement in the comments and on Twitter.
According to Ziyon, the Liquideep split up announcement has been coming for some time. He openly admits “that some have been speculating about whats [sic] happening” and calls the post an “open letter regarding what’s going on.”
Ziyon concludes on a positive note that music is his life and confirms that he’s currently wrapping up his solo offering, Audio Alchemy, which will see the light of day this July.

This is a message I knew I would have to write at some point. I know that some have been speculating about whats happening. Something I completely understand. In order to keep from any confusion, this is my open letter regarding what’s going on.

The reality is, Yes, as a collective,  Liquideep will no longer be releasing any new material nor will we be performing together. We wanted to share this in a recent tv interview that we did, but unfortunately the interviewer was looking for drama instead of allowing us to speak to our fans in a positive light about whats happening.

To those who got the wrong impression of me with that interview, I do apologize. To those who could see what was happening, thank you for understanding and for still encouraging me.

In regards to Liquideep, we are both taking different directions both personally and career wise. Naturally,  this affects things moving forward. Though I do feel that there is a lot of positive things that will come from this new endeavor, I will say that it wasn’t an easy decision for us to come to. All we ask is for your prayers.

From me, I’d like to say thank you to all of our fans who have been behind us through all of our ups and downs. We will never forget how good you have all been to us.

For the rest of the year,  I will honour all of the dates we agreed to. So far, that has already been happening. So if you only see me, now you won’t be surprised. ^_^

I am busy working to complete my solo album “Audio Alchemy” which will be released in July, this year. Music is my passion. Something I will never turn from. I need your support. Thank you to those who have encouraged me to make this move. I am very excited about this new chapter, and look forward to sharing with you.

SAMA Record of the Year nominees list

Seventeen artists will battle it out for the Record of the Year award at the Samas this April.

In total, twenty songs are in the running for the award which is determined by public vote. The Kia Record of the Year is one of the most eagerly awaited categories at the Samas.
The winner will be announced during the 20th Sama awards ceremony at Sun City on Monday, 28 April 2014. The event will be broadcast live on SABC1 from 8.30pm.

Liquideep prepares to release their new album "Welcome Aboard"

Liquideep is busy in studio putting final touches to their upcoming album titled "Welcome Aboard" .
Liquideep which is a group comprising of american born Jonathan Ziyon Christian and Thabo ‘Ryzor' Shokgolo ,the duo first came to the lime light when their disc was featured on the House of Afrika sessions vol.1 , the album featured their hit single "Fairy tale" , which became very popular in 2009 , it was a huge hit and it immediately rose them to fame.

In 2010 , they released their debut album "Fabrics of the heart" which was a very successful album and was well received by the masses . It featured a lot of hits including "Angel" , "Something about you" and other good tracks . They are back once again with their new album which promises to be the best as well , although they say their sound is a bit different from their usual sounds in their new album , i can confidently say they still sounding good , having listened to their new single "Welcome aboard" . The album will be out soon.
