TUMI MOLEKANE CREATES HISTOTY AT THE APOLLO THEATER (NYC)

The Molekane, a household name and former lead of the group "Tumi and The Volume", recently returned from a 3 week Europe tour with French Hip Hop collective Chinese Man venturing through France, Belgium and Germany. Now Tumi is on his way to take on New York City's infamous apollo Theater.

The Apollo Theater was built in 1913. Catering to the black community of the Harlem neighborhood, New York is a music hall which is a noted venue for African-American performers. It is estimated that 1.3 million people visit the Apollo every year.

The Apollo Theater Legends Hall of Fame has inducted such renowned performers and music-industry figures such as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Sammy Davis Jr...James Brown & The Famous Flames, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Gladys Knight & the pips, Dionne Warwick , Bobby Short, The Jackson 5, Patti LaBelle, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Maria Carey, The Isley Brothers, Lauryn Hill, Jazmine Sullivan, Ne-Yo, Machine Gun Kelly, James Brown, Little Richard, Smokey Robinson, Billy Eckstine, Quincy Jones and Chaka Khan.

The World Music Institute has invited Tumi Molekane to perform on the Africa Now! Main stage event at The Apollo Theater, New York City........ 11th of October 2014, this will be his first ever performance in the USA. Tumi will be showing work from his 3rd solo album, titled 'Return Of The King", Which is due for release in October 2014 at this World Renowned Venue with a full live band, alongside other prominent South African acts, The Soil & Simphiwe Dana. This auspicious occassion will be hosted by legendary South African musician. Hugh Masikela.
