How It Works?
This is your chance to be hottest new SA Urban Artist – To be the 1 , Upload your original track and your fans to vote for you . The winner will walk away with a trip for two to new york to attend the Brooklyn Hip Hop festival

Rules

This competition follows 3 stages:

Stage 1 - Online Entry 11 August to 30 August

Urban artist entrants will upload their tracks to the Durex microsite page where the public will vote for their Top 10 finalists in each of the 5 demarcated regions to make up a total of 50 finalists for Stage 1.

The 5 regions are

Gauteng

• Soweto
• Mamelodi
• Thembisa

Kwa-Zulu Natal

• Umlazi

Western Cape

• Khayalitsha

Entries must not contain explicit language. The promoters reserve the right to remove any entries containing such language. These entries will be disqualified.

Participants may only enter once.

Stage 2 Top 50 Hip Hop Events 31 August to 6 September

The Top 50 (voted for in Stage 1) from the online public voting phase will perform for a panel of judges at 5 events; three(3) in Johannesburg, one(1) in Durban and one(1) in Cape Town.

These judges will deliberate amongst each other, on the night, to arrive at a winner, who will go through to the finale. Judges decision is final.

Top 50 finalists must provide their own transport to and from the respective events in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

The winners of each event will be assigned a number the night of their event as follows:

1. Soweto,
2. Tembisa,
3. Mamelodi,
4. Khayalitsha,
5. Umlazi.

Stage 3 - Finale Event 7 September to 19 September

The finale event will happen in Johannesburg.

The following parties will have a 25% contribution to the final decision: Dotcom McHustle, Reason, Nadia Nakai, the public.

The public will vote via the USSD line *120*447*number-of-top-5-artist#. This line will be open to voting from the 7th September.

The winners from the Stage 2 Durban and Cape Town events will be provided transport and accommodation for the finale event in Johannesburg, this in ONLY for the finale event. The winners from the Stage 2 Johannesburg events must provide their own transport to the event.
