AKA to Perform at the BET Experience Fan Fest

BET Africa has recently announced that hip-hop sensation AKA will be heating things up at the BET Experience Fan Fest stage in a live performance.

The rapper is set to share the stage with a host of old and new artists including Desiigner, Fat Joe & Remy Ma, O.T. Genasis, Kevin Gates, Rae Sremmurd and Dreezy during the 2-day event taking place on Saturday 25 June and Sunday 26 June.

AKA releases Music Video for Composure

AKA's has release music video for Composure

The song blew up on social media after it was released and it still has people talking. In the track, the rapper takes shots at a couple of people in the rap scene, including his rival, Cassper Nyovest.

Cassper has since responded to AKA with a track called Dust2Dust.

AKA walks out of an interview when asked about Bonang affair

Despite telling an interviewer that he is comfortable with controversy and thrives on it, an upset AKA, hurriedly walks away from a video interview after the reporter asks if he still denies he had an affair with media personality Bonang Matheba.

In the video clip, AKA talks about how he is focusing on his music, daughter with DJ Zinhle and family. When asked about how he hogs headlines and all the rumours surrounding him, he says: "Its about priorities and remembering what's important."

"I've kind of made a career out of being outspoken and speaking my mind so it's not something that I'm foreign to, controversy is like my comfort zone," AKA adds.

But when pressed by the interviewer to speak out about Bonang, he ignores her and angrily asks his manager: 'Can we stop the interview Benza? Why are they asking about this thing now?'

AKA then summons his manager outside and the interview ends.

Riky Rick Responds To AKA 's diss song

The rapper has released a new song, called 'Spread Love', in response to AKA's 'Composure'.

AKA got tongues wagging after releasing his Composure trackon Wednesday, which fired some shots at local hip hop artists, inlcuding Cassper Nyovest, Anatii and Riky Rick. The song has been well-received by fans and it's still a hot topic right now. 

Instead of causing more contoversy, Riky Rick has opted to spread love. The rapper took to Twitter to share a link to his new song, titled Spread Love. His tweet read: "so everyone thinks AKA dissed me... Here's the response you wanted ---->..."

But don't get too exctited because Riky is not firing any shots at other rappers in his new track. He raps: "...I'm the only one who wanted these ni***s to work it out. I'm the only one who was trying to make peace. I guess my only mistake was being a real G... The game tryna remind me of competition, the game tryna turn me against my idols."  

He made it clear that he doesn't want to rap if rapping is about the titles: "I don't wanna rap if the battle for who's next pits me against real n***s like Kid X, cause before the stakes was high we used to text. I don't wanna fight with my ni***s to be the best. I don't wanna break down ni***s I wanna learn from them..." 

Oh, and there's a very important announcement at the end of the song. "I'm just tryna let you know that Family Values is gold, ni***s we did it!" 

Bonang and Rapper AKA spotted on a date

The two were snapped having breakfast in Cape Town by a fan who then uploaded the pic to social networking site, Twitter

It seems the two, who are both fresh from recent break-ups with their respective partners, are going public with their burgeoning  romance.They were spotted by Gugu Bophela who shared a picture of them on an apparent date in Cape Town recently.

The photo was quickly picked up by various media outlets. Matheba and AKA are yet to comment about it although the Metro FM DJ has previously said she was "good friends" with the controversial award-winning rapper.

Matheba is currently based in Cape Town where she presents an SABC 3 show. AKA visits the Mother City regularly for shows and gigs. He was in Cape Town as recent as two weeks ago.

AKA Disses Cassper Nyovest on His Latest Single ' Composure'

The internet has been on fire in anticipation of a new AKA track set to be released this Friday, but it's a (planned) leaked diss track that has really grabbed everyone's attention!

A diss track by AKA, entitled Composure, found its way onto DJ Milkshake's Soundcloud on Wednesday afternoon.

The track details quite a lot about the rappers relationship with Cassper Nyovest, Riky Rick and even his baby mama, DJ Zinhle.

On Cassper Nyovest

AKA addresses the beef he has been having with Cassper, telling the rapper that he "ain't gonna treat your pony-tale like the holy grail."

"Why you coming to my table without asking dawg. I know you hate me with a passion. I ain't mad at y'all," AKA begins.

"When it rains it pours. Understand with me when it’s war, it’s war. Thinking back you wasn’t even national yet. Matter fact I used to be a fan of your shit. Young king I should’ve took you under my wing, instead I let you under my skin," he raps on the track.

He then goes on to question Cassper's album sales ("went gold but y'all did it a funny way") and accuses him of stealing moves from Okmalumkoolkat.

On Riky Rick

AKA reveals in the song that Riky Rick called him and told him he could not collab with him because of the Cassper drama.

On Anatii

"I’m the reason people had ‘The Saga’ on repeat. Now you wanna charge me 80 thousand for a beat?" AKA raps, alluding to a possible feud with Anatii. And did he just call Anatii's music video "trash"?

On Zinhle

AKA also speaks out about his split with Zinhle, and says he was finishing his album when all of a sudden the pair had to make separate living arrangements. He raps how his father told him not to make the same mistakes, but he still ended up coming home late to find dinner in the microwave. "We were so in love like an idiot," he adds.

AKA Nominated on the MTV EMA

It has just been announced that AKA has been nominated in the Best African Act category at the MTV EMA's.

The annual awards ceremony is due to be held in Milan this year.

AKA posted a snap on his Insta page and was immediately applauded.

AKA and DJ Zinhle Break Up Their 3 Year Relationship

The music power couple who recently welcome their one-month old daughter into the world have decided to separate.

"After a great deal of thought, reflection and discussion we have decided to end our relationship of three years. We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it," said a statement issued by Zinhle and AKA.

The statement continued, that their split was amicable

The couple welcomed baby Kairo less than a month ago.

"We both wish nothing but a great future for each other and remain dear and trusted friends as well as co-parents to our wonderful baby Kairo, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority. We both deeply care for each other and remain close friends."

The former duo also asked for privacy saying they will not be giving any interviews on their split.
